BR6004W-G1 - firmware upgrade procedure
Below are instructions on how to perform a Firmware Upgrade on the BR6004W-G1 router.
The following Firmware upgrade - APR-M14H-V1.1.58EN.LFI - will help to correct a known issue regarding a DHCP multi-broadcasting problem with some NTL / VIRGIN MEDIA customers.
IMPORTANT
Please note that the Firmware file APR-M14H-V1.1.58EN.LFI, is only compatible with the following types of BR6004W-G1 router:
Serial numbers: 6A100xxx, 6A200xxx, 6A300xxx
EDITION INFO: APR-M14H-V1.1.14EN, APR-M14H-V1.1.40EN,
APR-M14H-V1.1.42EN, APR-M14H-V1.1.51EN, APR-M14H-V1.1.58EN
To check the current EDITON INFO of your router, please try the following:
Open your Web-Browser (Internet Explorer, Mozila Firefox, Safari) and type into the Address Bar http://192.168.1.1
you will come to a Login prompt.
Enter guest as User Name
Enter guest as Password
This will open the STATUS page
Scroll to the bottom of this screen, and you will see the option EDITION INFO
What is the Edition Info version?
If the Edition Info is different from the versions shown above, then DO NOT PERFORM THE UPGRADE
you will render the router unusable if you update the wrong Firmware for the wrong router.
